1. Commitment to Privacy and Responsible Use of Information

The Privacy Act 1988 describes the way many Australian businesses must protect personal and sensitive information of their clients. Although Gardanto Services Pty Ltd is not required to comply with this Act, we are committed to providing you with the highest level of protection of your privacy. Your privacy is a serious matter to us and we strictly follow the National Privacy Principles ('NPPs') of the Privacy Act 1988 ('the Act'). This Privacy Policy statement details our policy on how we manage your personal information to conform with the NPPS and the Act and you should retain it for future reference. We may update this privacy policy statement from time to time.

2. Type of Personal Information We Collect

We collect personal information from you if you are a Customer who has or is considering entering a Licence Agreement for provision of our services or if you are an Internal Client of our Customer who will be granted Authenticated access to the Customer's resources. The kind of information we collect includes your name, contact details such as your current address, mobile phone number and email address, and information necessary for you to use our services. We may also collect information about your use of our services and any preferences you tell us about.

3.Why we collect personal information

Collection of this information is essential to permit the Authentication Services we provide Generally we collect and use your personal information to update you on our range of products and services and to assist with our internal administration and operations. We will also use your information for marketing purposes and to provide you with information about special events, products and services (both ours and those of other companies) that may be of interest to you. At all times you may elect to unsubscribe from receiving any marketing information, by either contacting us directly or, in the case of electronic messages, by clicking the unsubscribe facility. Collection of your personal information is limited to what we need for these purposes. If we are unable to collect the information and be confident in its accuracy, the services we can offer may be limited and less useful to you.

4. How we collect personal information

Generally, we collect personal information directly from you or through our Customer who is granting you Authenticated access to its resources - such as when you apply for membership, request a product or service we provide, in the course of providing that product and service or when you have other dealings with us. We may also periodically update that information and where reasonably practicable, we will provide you the option of interacting with us anonymously.

5. Credit cards

If you are a Customer, when you use your credit card to make a payment online, we do not store your credit card number, nor do we transfer this information over the Internet to your payment provider. Paying for your original License Credits provides you with the range of services and your own realm. You will pay separately for further services and Licence Credits, entering your credit card details each time.

6. How we store information

Your personal information is stored in a number of secure computer storage facilities and paper based files, and in other records. We have taken precautions to ensure that your personal information is protected from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Once we no longer need your personal information, we take reasonable steps to de-identify your personal information. This is subject to the twelve month period after the later date of termination or expiry of our Licence Agreement or from the date the last use of Licence Credits has expired.

7. How we use your personal information

Your personal information may be used for the purposes that you have provided it or in any way that you give us permission to. Generally, your personal information will be used in order to: provide products and services to you ; maintain contact with you for the purpose of notifying you of any new or additional products and services in which you may wish to participate; maintain and develop our records system and customer database for reporting and responses to security queries to our Customer.

8. When we disclose your personal information

To ensure a high level of service, we may disclose information about you to third party organisations ('related third parties') to ensure that you receive information about products and services offered by us or through these related third parties. To better protect your privacy, we impose strict requirements of security and confidentiality on all related third parties as to how they handle your personal information. Notwithstanding this, we cannot be held responsible for any misuse or unauthorised disclosure of your personal information by these related third parties.

If you do not wish to receive marketing information from us or any of these companies, please contact us on the contact details below so that we can update your preferences. Where necessary, we may disclose your personal information to our professional advisers and government authorities and agencies as required by law.

9. Accuracy

We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. If your personal details are incorrect or they change, please contact us on the contact numbers below so that we can update your details and continue providing you with our services.

10. Access to Personal Information

You have the right on identification to access your personal information and we will provide you with a copy of any personal information we hold on request. We may charge a fee for retrieving this information, in which case we will inform you of the fee in advance of providing the information. If you are an Internal Client of our Customer, for security reasons, we will also inform the Customer of your request for your personal information.

11. Online Interaction

When you deal with us online, you can be confident that we have taken all steps to ensure that your personal information is not used in any way you did not intend it to be. You can access our website anonymously, but if you visit our website to read or download information only, our system will record the date and time that the site was accessed and the information viewed or downloaded. This allows us to monitor use of our website and improve our service to you. This information cannot uniquely identify a user. We also use cookies to monitor your use of our website. A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer file by a web page server that allows our server to interact more effectively with your computer. When you use our website we send you a temporary cookie that gives you a unique identification number. A different identification number is sent each time you use our website. Cookies do not identify individual users, but they do identify a user's browser type and your Internet Service Provider. You can configure your web browser to reject or accept cookies. If you reject cookies you may not be able to use our web site.

To evaluate the effectiveness of our web site, we may use third parties to collect statistical data. No personal information will be collected on these occasions.
